Treating sinusitishow?

By Jana Knottel

Treating sinusitis shouldnt have too be complicated as there are many methods to cure sinusitis and some of which are not that hard to do. But it depends on how you got sinusitis first. If you got it from a virus then you should use pain relievers, decongestants or nasal sprays. If you got it from a bacteris you should take pain relievers, antibiotics or decongestants.

If you prefer the natural way you may try aromatherapy. This is a natural way and relaxing way to clear up your sinuses. You can add in some oils or put in your favorite oils during aromatherapy. Lavender, menthol, and other essential oils for this.

You can ask your local organic pharmacy for sea salt water nasal sprays if you dont want the medicated nasal sprays. Placing a humidifier is also an option as well. Sometimes if an area is too dry some dusts or irritants might get into your sinuses and this causes the swelling.

Symptoms of sinusitis can vary. It can be pain on your face or runny nose. Post nasal drip is also a common indication too. Most often than not headaches are also common. Fever, stuffy nose, tooth pain and other problems to your nose and throat then you may have sinusitis.

Dont fret. As mentioned earlier there are many methods to treat sinusitis or any Sinusitis Trouble that you may be experiencing.

If you dont want to get sinusitis just live a healthy lifestyle. In any sickness, the best cure is prevention and that same applies to sinusitis. Eat healthy foods like vegetables and fish or chicken. A good amount of protein and carbohydrates should be part of your diet too. Exercise regularly. Stay away from smokes and other air pollutants as this may cause your sinuses to swell up.

To Treat Psoriasis Vulgaris -- At No Time Add These Things To Your Drink!

By Wayne Hynes

A. Phosphoric Acid - Active Element In Many Soft Drinks

Severe Health Consequences of Phosphoric 'Acid':

* The phosphoric acid found in pops binds with the minerals: calcium, magnesium and zinc. These minerals are sometime later lost in the urine.

* Pop drinkers are liable to experience a shortfall in vitamin A, plus the minerals: calcium, magnesium and zinc. All these nutrients are VITAL to the health of your skin!

* 'Acid' sets about to dissolve tooth enamel in only 20 minutes. Can you envisage what it is doing somewhere else in your body?

* Previous studies indicate that the 'acid' consumes bones and skin of calcium, and girls who consume more soft drinks are more prone to broken bones.

* A primary contributor to the spiraling increase in osteoporosis.

Forthright recommendation: You should avoid ALL sodas, as a factor in a healthy psoriasis diet.

Note: If you think Mountain Dew is a 'better' alternative - don't!! See nerdparadise .com - Science - Mountain Dew ... "sadly, the humor fails to mask the health effects of 'dewing' it".

B. Liquids With Sugars Added

The March 1993 issue of the TOWNSEND LETTER FOR DOCTORS supplied an outline of ways in which 'added' sugar is considered to be detrimental to the health of your skin:

* immune system suppression - taboo for anyone with psoriasis

* weakens defenses against infection; lowers healing response

* leads to calcium, magnesium and zinc mineral deficiencies - vital minerals for everybody, not just psoriasis patients

* can lead to the onset of degenerative disease

If you enjoy sweeteners (not too much now!) then use unpasteurized honey, maple syrup or molasses - all alkaline, meaning they contain minerals.

C. Liquids Containing Artificial Sweeteners

1. Aspartame is the high-tech title for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure.

Aspartame is reponsible for over 75 percent of the detrimental reactions to food additives broadcast to the FDA, amongst them skin rashes. Contains Methanol (wood alcohol), a lethal poison.

Psoriasis patients - never drink or eat anything at all that contains this product.

2. Sucralose is constructed by the selective 'chlorination' of table sugar. It is 600 times sweeter than sugar. It is an inorganic composition not readily metabolized by the human body.

Sucralose is used in minute quantities in Splenda. It is so sweet that they have to add bulking agents (99% by weight) called Dextrose and Maltodextran (sugars) to those little packets we put in our coffee and tea. See health effects of sugars, above.

Over the long haul, the health effects of sucralose on consumers has yet to be established. Psoriasis sufferers - stay away from it, and the 4500+ other items containing it!

Up next...

"The liquid you ABSOLUTELY MUST drink to have any possibility of beating your psoriasis. Plus, discover why dehydration is your worst enemy when suffering from psoriasis!"

To your health, naturally!

You Can Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

By I Russell

High blood pressure consists of two numbers. The top reading is the systolic number and the bottom number is the diastolic reading. The systolic pressure indicates the pressure as your heart beats and the diastolic pressure indicate the number between contractions. You can tell you have high blood pressure when your systolic number is over 130 and your diastolic number is over 85. But you dont necessarily need medication to lower your high blood pressure. You can lower blood pressure naturally.

There is a correlation between being overweight and high blood pressure. A majority of people need to lose weight. The mechanics of the correlation between excess weight and high blood pressure are not clearly understood. However, evidence suggests the connection is related to non-normal glucose levels. Experts recommend a person who wants to lose weight exercise a minimum of 30 minutes 5 times per week. It doesn't have to be extreme or strenous. Something simple like walking 30 minutes each day makes a difference. Exercise lowers blood pressure naturally in many ways. It obviously helps with weight loss and stress management. Studies show regular aerobic exercise strengthens the heart so it pumps more efficiently leading to lower blood pressure naturally.

To lower blood pressure naturally another important parameter is of diet. Diet is an important parameter which is very useful in lowering your blood pressure. To lower your blood pressure, the diet should be rich of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and dairy products. Although red meat and sweets can be consumed but basically the diet should be rich in fruits and vegetables for lowering your blood pressure within two weeks. Your diet should also include supplements which can also help to lower blood pressure naturally. Less intake of Sodium can also lower the blood pressure levels in a natural way. Hence, how much sodium intake you can reduce? It's advised to lower it down to around 1,500 milligrams a day which is half the National average. One teaspoon of salt has 1,200 milligrams of sodium in it.

An important way to lower blood pressure naturally is to cut down on the amount of drinks you consume. The less you drink, the lower your blood pressure will be. Now that is not to say you cannot drink at all. It is recommended one drink a day is fine but not more than that. Always drink in moderation whether you have high blood pressure or not.

Caffeine is a huge way to increase your blood pressure. So to lower blood pressure naturally, slow down on the caffeine. If you drink three cups of coffee each day, it will increase your blood pressure by 4 mm. The reason caffeine raises blood pressure is because it tightens the blood vessels and causes more stress. When your body is under stress, your heart starts pumping more and therefore you get a huge boost in your blood pressure. If you really need that cup of coffee in the morning, switch to decaf.

Natural dietary supplements are another great way to lower blood pressure naturally and maintain a healthy pressure. Supplements like L-arginine, grape seed extract, lycopene and pycnogenol have been clinically proven to help lower blood pressure. These safe natural supplements will not cause any harmful after effects with the positive benefits of better cardiovascular health. Taking these supplements on a daily basis will be your first step to a healthier lifestyle.

Fast Abs Workout - Using Unstable Surfaces

By Dan Solaris

As more and more cultures are discovering the wonders and calories of fast-food from the west, the number of obesity cases is also fast increasing. In North American and metropolitan cities in Europe, an overwhelming majority of the populations are becoming overweight.

That said, more and more people are joining the fight against the flab and a large number don't know the first thing about exercising to get fast abs. A lot of folks go about their workouts thinking rep after rep of sit-ups, leg raises and crunches are what a fast abs workout is all about.

In reality, flat floor sit-ups and other conventional ab isolating exercises are quite unbalanced when it comes to strengthening the core muscles. Working-out all the core muscles (made-up of the upper and lower abs, obliques and the lumbar muscles) is the only real way to work out the abs effectively.

Having strong core muscles is like having a strong foundation. It enables the rest of the body to move fluidly with less effort and avoid injury. Core muscle exercises also mimic the natural movements our bodies move in our daily activities.

Our spine has a natural curve to it and doing ab exercises flat on the floor or on a bench clearly limits our torsos range of motion when we're doing crunches or sit-ups. Using a soft, curved medium like an exercise ball enables more muscle movement, resulting in more physical effort and more calories burned.

A test using electromyography was done to determine the difference between normal flat-bench crunches and sit-ups to ones done on a curved surface. The results were clear- a way higher percentage of muscle fibers of the midsection were being utilized in core exercises on a curved, unstable surface.

Doing abdominal exercises on an unstable surface also makes your workouts more efficient because more muscular effort is done trying to balance your body. Other muscles of the core, like the transverse abdominis is used to provide stability- resulting in more calories burned and a faster ab workout.

Employing the use of unstable surfaces also makes exercising more less boring. The more fun workout sessions are, the easier it is for people to stick to them and eventually get the results they want in less time.

Treatment for Hyperhidrosis: What You Need to Know

By Jessica Matias

Sweat. Normally it's a good sign of how much effort you're exerting or how your body feels about the weather. Like many other things, some people have more of it than others. That's normal, too. What isn't normal is having far too much coming out.

That's what people call Hyperhidrosis, or the condition or state that a person just sweats far too much than is healthy or normal. A cure for hyperhidrosis or treatment for hyperhidrosis is often the next step for people concerned for either their hydration, their appearance or perhaps their style. Luckily, management is relatively easy for people who know the right things.

The types of hyperhidrosis can manifest themselves on the body spots affected by it. You may have extra sweaty hands, others may have extra sweaty feet, while some can have facial hyperhidrosis. Anywhere in the body where there are sweat glands, hyperhidrosis can occur. The cure for it largely depends on how it all started.

Causes from them can be classified into two groups: primary or secondary. The primary group is usually genetic, coming to light as a person grows into adolescence. The main difference between the primary and secondary groups is that the latter can start at any point in a person's life.

Treatment for hyperhidrosis that is secondary might be more complicated as it could be a disorder of any number of things from the pituitary or thyroid glands, a form of diabetes and even the more dangerous mercury poisoning.

Treatments for hyperhidrosis vary for most people. Antiperspirants made up of aluminum chloride may be used by some who are suffering from it. However, it may not be totally effective, particularly those with extra sweaty feet or hands. It can also cause skin irritations at large amounts, so it should be used in moderation or not at all, especially for people with sensitive skin.

Botulinum toxin is a common solution that can be used to treat underarms sweating. This solution disables the sweat glands, but only temporarily. This is an FDA-approved solution with effects that can last only from 4 to 9 months.

A mistaken cure for hyperhidrosis involves the use anxiolytics and antidepressants. This was in a effort to control anxiety as people easily connect sweating to that condition or emotion. Beta blockers, as they are sometimes used to control the symptoms of stress, are also used, though this application for these items are no longer considered.

Hyperhidrosis can interfere with a lot of activities, especially if a person is suffering them on their hands. Grasping or catching or throwing objects becomes extra difficult, if not thoroughly impossible. It could even be socially awkward or damaging, which has lead to the search for a cure for hyperhidrosis.

Surgical options for curing hyperhidrosis can be expensive. But if your lifestyle and career is dependent on its treatment, shelling out the money should not be too much of a concern. It could be well worth it if it means living free of the social stigma that hyperhidrosis can bring.

Presbyopia: No Food For You

By James Gilbert Pynn

It is nothing to be ashamed of, but many older Americans are too embarrassed to don a pair of reading glasses to read the menu. The awkward alternative is not bother with the menu and order from the hip -- which necessitates countless rounds between the ashamed party and the waiter. The simple facts are as we age, so too do our eyes. Like gray hair or wrinkles, presbyopia is inevitable.

Most people first notice blurred vision at close range between the ages of 40 and 50. As the focusing mechanism of the eye degenerates, object within a few feet of the person become harder to focus on. Reading the fine print becomes nearly impossible with presbyopia and soon even the fork and knife or plate is blurred.

The effects are less noticeable in bright sunlight. In bright sunlight, the iris contracts to a smaller diameter, thereby increasing the focal ratio of the lens and reducing blurred vision. The effects of presbyopia are more noticeable in dim conditions. The popular example involves fumbling for a pair of reading glasses in a posh restaurant.

Bi-focal glasses and multi-focus contacts can make that cozy dinner painless and awkward-free. No, your arms are not too short; your eyes are getting old. But there is no need to run and hide or memorize the menu beforehand. The condition can be corrected, though not cured, by the use of corrective glasses or contacts.

The first onset of eyestrain and blurred vision seems to occur in professions that require careful scrutiny of text or monitors. So, if you are a bookworm or an academic, chances are you will be seeking relief sooner than someone who is a lumber or construction worker. Never fear, the solutions abound and you need never feel ashamed. Presbyopia is not a disease, any more than aging is a disease.
