So You Want To Be A Skateboarder

By Corey Spinner

When skateboarding just started, it was mainly just used as a means for getting from one place to another. However, today things are a lot different reasons and it has evolved into an entire sport complete with extreme stunts and more. Professional skateboarders have been pushing the envelope in their craft ever since the beginning.

There are a number of specific designs of skateboards all designed to perform different styles of skateboarding. This is including longboards, wide boards and more. There are also many different styles of wheels, decks and other parts of the skateboard to choose from.

If you are planning to start out in the sport of skateboarding, it is important to know that if you plan on developing the tricks of the trade, you will probably eventually get hurt in the process. Just like the skateboarders did before you, you just need to keep getting up and going again and again until you finally get it.

Getting injured is definitely all part of the joy in skateboarding. However, you still should try to protect yourself with some good protective equipment like a helmets and pads. I know that sometimes these are not always the nicest things to have to wear but it sure beats an injury.

One other thing that you will certainly see more when you start skating around your city is the number of no-skating signs saying that skateboarding is not permitted in that area. It is good to know where you are permitted to legally skate. It takes the fun out of it if you keep getting in trouble for skating in the wrong places. There are skateparks located in almost any town.

For someone who has been skateboarding or just getting into the sport, there are always new challenges to test yourself with.
