Choose the Best Colon Cleanse Method for You

By Ann Triune

Choosing the best colon cleanse method depends on the person who is going to undergo it. Colon cleansing is important for a healthier body. The colon functions during digestion by absorbing nutrients and water from what we eat and drink, and then eliminating the unnecessary waste.

A colon cleanse is needed to not only to maintain a healthy colon but also a healthier body. This process is also a detoxification method that will tackle the problem of harmful toxins in the body. In detoxification, the toxins are eliminated, neutralized or transformed. It is important to deal with toxins because too much of the in the body can cause health issues. Toxins are easily acquired from our day-to-day activities.

Signs and Symptoms to Look Out For

An unhealthy colon may affect not only the digestive system but also the other parts of the body as well as the bodily functions. Below is a list of symptoms that may mean that you need to get your colon cleansed.

Allergies Anemia Arthritis - Rheumatism Bad Breath- Body Odor Bloating Brain fog (hard time concentrating) Colds and flu Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Colon and other cancers Constipation, diarrhea, gas Crohn's disease Depression, irritability Digestive problems Diverticulitis/Diverticulosis Fatigue Fibroids - Endometriosis Flatulence/gas Frequent Infections Headaches Hemorrhoids Infertility Insomnia Leaky Gut Syndrome Low Sex Drive Lower back pain Menstrual Irregularities Neck and shoulder pain Pain in lower stomach (especially left side) PMS Skin problems (blemishes, eczema, etc.) Sluggishness Ulcerative colitis

Choosing the Best Colon Cleanse Method

There are many different kinds of colon cleansing methods available to us today. These methods have benefits and disadvantage alike. Some may be safer than others but not that effective. Others may be cheaper but may cause allrgic reactions to you. It is important to choose a method that you are comfortable with. It would also be a good idea to talk to yur doctor before starting any kind of detoxification regimen to fully understand what you are getting yourself into. Below are the 5 most common methods of cleansing the colon.

1. Colon Hydrotherapy (Colonic Irrigation or Colenema)

This method should only be performed by a liscenced colonic hydro therapist. In colon hydrotherapy, a tube made of plastic is inserted in your anus and filtered warm water is slowly allowed to flow in through the tube. This process may be uncomfortable as it is very invasive. This method can succesfully clean the large intestine.

2. Enemas

This method is a kind of colon hydrotherapy. Enemas are usually done to treat constipation because it effectively loosens the build-up of fecal matter in the lower intestine. A tube is inserted in the anus to let in an enema solution. Although enema solution is usually just water, there are other solutions (for different purposes) available today. There are solutions like a Yoghurt Enema, Coffee Enema and Herbal Enema.

3. Laxatives

Laxatives are usually recommended for people who are suffering from temporary constipation. They (laxatives) are orally ingested and work by softening the stool and causing contractions to enable a bowel movement. It just basically clears the bowel but does not eliminate any build-up in the colon.

4. Herbal Colon Cleansers

Herbal colon cleansers are able to clean the colon but are less effective than other colon cleansing products. They are safe to use because only natural ingredients are used. This method is also inexpensive as compared to the other methods.

5. Oxygen-based Colon Cleansers

These types of cleansers are more effective than the other kinds of colon cleansers. An oxygen-based cleanser is able to melt the build-up in the colon and the intestines and turn them into liquid or gas for easy elimination. Some of these kinds of products come in pill form for easier use.

The best colon cleanse method need not only be comprised of one, but may be a combination of two kinds of colon cleansing methods. You can also help make whatever method you choose more effective by making healthy lifestyle changes.

Signs of Depression. Understanding What Is And What Is Not

By Dr. Arturo Ovies

These are the typical symptoms of depression are:

Constant feelings of pessimism and hopelessness

Sad or Anxious Moods which persist for days

Constant feelings of being incapable and of worthlessness

Major difficulty in concentrating and remembering

Complete loss of interest in hobbies and activities previously enjoyed

Low levels of energy; sense of fatigue

Extreme scenarios of sleep - either very little sleep or oversleeping

Decrease in appetite leading to weight loss

Increase in eating leading to weight gain

Entertaining thoughts of suicide

It is not easy for people with depression to shake off their feelings of sadness and misery. They have to be treated with medication and therapy to help them overcome these overwhelming feelings. I know what it feels like since I have been dealing with depression for most of my adult life. This is generally the first of the many signs of depression.

Depression is a very complex emotional problem and it has not been easy finding the exact causes of it. However, with the help of years of research, it is being argued that the following factors could have a role to play in a person succumbing to depression.

Genetic Factors

It has been found that depression is often inherited. This has led to more research into genetics and what role that has to play in the transmitting of any depression from generation to generation. This however is not uniformly true, adding to the complexity of the problem. Researchers therefore conclude that it is more likely that a person may suffer from depression if any other family member is already suffering from it. However, even if there have been no instances of depression in the family, it does not mean that you will not suffer from it.

Psychological Predisposition

Some persons may be more vulnerable to depression than others. Scientists think that if people already have a certain predisposition for negativity, for instance, like persons who have very low self-esteem, a constantly pessimistic outlook or a persistently negative attitude, those people may be more likely than others to suffer from depression. Also, some are more likely to feel overwhelmed by situations of stress and anxiety, which may also lead to depression.

Physical Factors

Many doctors have noticed a correlation between physical illness and depression. Those that suffer from a heart attack or stroke, Parkinson's disease, and other hormonal disorders seem to be more likely to exhibit signs of depression. The recovery from a physical illness is often hindered by depression, and often the depression remains even after the physical ailment is resolved.

Environmental Stresses

There is not believed to be any direct link between negative events occurring in one's life and the occurrence of depression in a person. However, there is general agreement that certain environmental factors and circumstances will play a role in how the person responds emotionally to the negative events. Death, divorce, loss of a job, financial insecurity all can potentially cause depression in a person.

It is very important to stress how deeply depression can impact a person's life.

Every positive feeling is dampened, being replaced by negative thoughts. The person can no longer feel happy or content or enthusiastic even about the most positive developments in his life. Continuing to do normal routine work becomes difficult and the person finds it extremely tough to get through even one day's work. Most of the times, the person does not even realize that he is going through these extreme phases and it is up to the family and friends to try and recognize depression in their loved one.

In my case were friends who had noticed some of the noticeable signs of depression and they brought it to my attention.

With effort and help you can overcome many of the signs of depression, it is not a "walk on the park" but doable.

You deserve a better life, so please seek help for your depression.

How Do Ceramic Water Filters Work? Are They Good Water Filters?

By Peter Abertoning

Why would anyone consider filtering water? Isn't our tap water good enough to drink? Sadly no, and so many people are turning to water purification using such water filtration systems as ceramic water filters and other water filtration methods.

Believe it or not there are up to 2100 toxic chemicals in our tap and drinking water according to the Ralph Nader Institure with stuff like heavy metals, lead, PCBs, pesticides, drugs like antibiotics and much more than that.

How does a ceramic drinking water filter work? It works by forcing water through tiny holes so that contaminants with molecule sizes bigger than the molecule size of water are filtered out. The tiny hole is created by using a filtering substance made of what is called Diatomaceous Earth. This is a substance made up of huge numbers of tiny fossilised shells from millions of years ago. It is manufactured into the filter mechanism of what is known as a ceramic filter.

It works because it produces tiny tiny holes that the water is forced through.

But this doesn't remove all contaminants. One that isn't removed is bacteria, so colloidal silver is also added to the filter to remove the bacteria.

Ceramic water filters have been around for over 100 years.

Are ceramic water filters the best water purification method? Just because they're old doesn't mean they're the best. And if you're worried about drinking tap water that is contaminated with hundreds of different you want the best.

The good news is that modern water filtration systems are extremely effective, and produce extremely clean water, cleaner than water that you would find in any naturally occurring water source in the world, and much cleaner than bottled water, (which isn't very clean at all).

Unfortunately there are some problems with ceramic water filtration. They are good drinking water filters, but not the best. Here's the problems.

The big issue is that you won't filter out chlorine with a ceramic filter. And although we need chlorine in our water you really don't need to be drinking chlorine, so you need to filter it out. The best water filters will remove 99.9% of chlorine and that's what you want. A ceramic filter won't filter chlorine.

Hairline cracks can also develop in ceramic filters and is this happens you can find that contaminants can get through without you knowing it. So you think your drinking water is clean and it isn't.

And there is one more problem. The FTC isn't happy with using colloidal silver to filter bacteria, it doesn't believe that this works sufficiently well.

So ceramic filters can be good, but modern water filtering technology can be better than a ceramic filter. And you need to clean them regularly or else they block up and don't work.

And there are some excellent water filtering options out there now, which will remove just about everything you need removed from your water.

But if you've got a ceramic filter it's way better than drinking tap water.

Variety and your Vegetarian Diet

By George B. Siba

A vegetarian diet includes grains, vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, herbs, nuts, and seeds. It is important to keep your vegetarian diet filled with a mixture of diverse, and nutrient rich foods. With some creativity, and planning, you will be amazed how much variety you can enjoy.

Nuts and seeds are a good place to get high quality protein. I only like to eat them whole, halved, sliced, pured, ground into flour, chopped, toasted, roasted or raw. Cashews, Brazil nuts peanuts, walnuts, almonds are some of my favorites. Sunflower and sesame seeds are outstanding for sprinkling over salads and other vegetable dishes.

A good substitute for meat in dishes like casseroles is beans. Beans have many health benefits, and they should be eaten often. Some of my favorite beans are kidney beans, split peas, haricot, red, green or brown lentils, black beans, and chickpeas.

Some of my favorite ways of eating beans are refried beans and guacamole, baked beans with cranberry sauce, beans with collard greens, just about any beans with butternut squash, and beans with green chilies. My crock pot just about always has something cooking with beans.

Beans, peas, lentils and other dried legumes need to be eaten with grains such as rice, barley or wheat, which also contain protein, because only together do they contain all the essential amino acids that are found in meat and other animal products.

Soy beans are special among beans in containing all the essential amino acids without the addition of grains. Soy beans products are important for that reason. There are many ways to eat soy. There is soy milk, yoghurt, cheeses, tofu and soy meat substitutes.

One way to add variety is to explore ethnic vegetarian dishes. Mexican, Italian, Caribbean, Greek, Cajun and especially Indian all have many vegetarian recipes. Many of the meat dishes can still be cooked with only slight variations. Pasta with tomato sauce, bean burritos, tacos, tostadas, pizza, beans and rice, bagels, baked potatoes, vegetable soups, whole grain bread and muffins, sandwiches, macaroni, stir-fry, salads, veggie burgers with French fries, breakfast cereals, pancakes, and waffles are a few of my favorite dishes that are great without meat.

Many grocery store freezer sections carry a collection of meat substitutes such as veggie bacon, hot dogs, burgers, and breakfast sausages.

Dairy products can be replaced with soy milk, soy margarine, and soy yogurts, which you can find in health food or Oriental food stores. Nut and rice milks can be made by blending nuts or cooked rice with water, blinding and straining.

Vegetarian diets are low in saturated fat, high in fiber, and full of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants and lots of goodness. There have been many studies that show that vegetarian diets have significant benefits and can help prevent certain horrible diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

Natural Remedies For Constipation

By Julieanne van Zyl

Constipation natural remedies are good because one of the most common. widespread digestive complaints in the United States is constipation. This may be attributed to the conventional Western diet. Common to most individuals in the U.S., it is often high in fats and processed foods and low in natural fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

The natural rate of recurrence of bowel motions will vary from individual to individual and also from day to day. One person will have bowel movements once or more per day while others may not have them anymore than 3 times a week. Constipation is defined, not by the number of times a person has a bowel movement, but rather by the consistency of the stool when it is passed.

Although it will affect anyone, constipation is more common in women and in older folks. Pregnant women, those who have just given birth, or anyone who has just had surgery will also be proclivity to develop constipation. Medications such as pain relievers or some physical conditions such as multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injuries will also place folks in a higher risk group.

Medications that can be used to increase the number of stools as well as improve the consistency of the stool, are readily available, but natural remedies are most recommended for improving this particular condition. Constipation is explained as a condition in which stools are hard and spherical and difficult to pass. The sufferer often feels distended or of not having completely emptied their bowels. It can be a very horrible feeling and really ruin your day.

If you propose using anything other than a natural remedy to improve your condition you should ensure that you really are constipated. TV ads inundate us daily, pushing us to use their products and laxative laboratories push their products vigorously. Sometimes this publicity can persuade individuals to believe they are constipated when in fact they are not. Always remember, using natural remedies for constipation will not negatively impact on your health. In fact, using these natural methods will only improve your overall health.

One of the first things to do, if you think you may be constipated, is to increase your fluid intake. The stools stay soft according to the amount of water left in the stool. A dehydrated body will pull as much water as possible from the stool in order to help maintain hydration in the body. A minimum of 6 to 8 glasses of liquid a day should be a part of every adult's diet. While almost any fluid will do the trick the most recommended one is water. Fluids that contain caffeine however will do more to dehydrate than to improve your condition.

The conventional Western diet invariably does not provide enough fiber. The American Dietetic association recommend 20 to 35 grams of fiber per day per each adult. It's not difficult to consume those 30 grams per day if you look carefully at your diet. One small apple is 3 grams and half a cup of green peas is 5 grams, or a bowl of bran cereal can give you as much as 13 grams. However the fiber heavyweights are cooked dried beans, nuts, oatmeal , prunes, figs, raisins.. Another good source of fiber is the mangosteen fruit or if you cannot buy the fruit, mangosteen juice.

Regular exercise is of huge benefit in the maintenance of a healthy bowel. Regular exercise will help to alleviate constipation because the continued movement helps the peristalsis in the lower intestines. Peristalsis is the motion, or movement, of the intestines that pushes the stool through to the rectum. While any form of exercise is of benefit, walking appears to be the best and is especially useful for pregnant women who face constipation as their babies develop.

We can also train ourselves to go to the toilet. We tend to choose to go when it's convenient for us to go. However, habitually prolonging the urge to go, can lead ultimately to constipation. It is never, never too late to improve your bowel habits. A gastric reflex which is activated approximately 20 minutes after each meal, especially heavy meals, will subtly send a signal. So choose a meal, any meal, and every day after that meal go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet for at least 10 minutes. Wait for 20 to 30 minutes following that meal before going. It won't be long before you will begin to create the habit of evacuating at the same time every day.

Should these dietary and lifestyle changes be unsuccessful, individuals may choose to add a little help. Eating a half a cup of sunflower seeds every day will help to increase the fiber. They are tasty and will help move the stool along. Bran and even oatmeal, horseradish, dried figs and plums will help the problem.

A condition in which the pelvic floor muscles don't work properly is known as pelvic floor dysfunction and this does not allow the bowels to empty properly. It is sometimes the cause of constipation in individuals. Biofeedback therapy helps teach those individuals how to coordinate the muscles and it improves the ability to go to the toilet.. Although biofeedback has only recently been explored as a treatment, the results appear to be promising. For example, after six months of biofeedback sessions, 43 of 54 biofeedback patients found them more effective than laxatives. Benefits appeared to last for at least two years.

Prolonged constipation will ultimately lead to the development of hemorrhoids and anal fissures, which are not only painful but can also exacerbate the constipation. They do this by narrowing the opening and not allowing as much stool through with each evacuation. Straining can also raise blood pressure and lower the heart rate which can result in elderly patients blacking out and falling off the toilet.

If these methods are not successful in alleviating your constipation and its related problems you should seek the care and advice of your primary care physician or health care practitioner.

5 Ways to Stop Constipation

By Xylene Belita

Constipation is a condition in which a person has difficulty in defecating. You feel uncomfortable and 'full' all the time. The feces is hard and dry and sometimes painful to pass. Most of us experience constipation at one time or another. It often only lasts for a short time and isn't serious. But understanding why it happens should give you ideas on how to stop constipation.

Here are some natural home remedies for constipation that would help you prevent and stop constipation in its tracks:

1.Drink water regularly. At least 6 glasses of water a day would be very great and therapeutic. Large amounts of water aids quick digestion and enables easier bowel movement.

2.Add roasted black gram powder to chapatti made of wheat to water, including the husks, can enhance constipation relief.

3.Molasses which have high calorie content are also very good. Beware though as it has a strong taste and you'll want to add fruit juice or milk to it when taking it. All you really need is two tablespoonfuls of blackstrap molasses just before sleeping at night.

4.Half a cup of cabbage juice twice a day is also very effective in treating constipation.

5.If you got access to mango, take one in the morning right after brushing before breakfast, and one at night after dinner. Mangoes are very effective bowel movers. There is a sure guarantee that you'll have to "go" at least twice before nightfall.

If you have painful constipation, you can treat it and get maximum results in a very short time with Bowtrol. It has all you need for completely eliminating painful constipation. Just one bottle of Bowtrol will work wonders as it completely cleanses and empties your colon leaving you feeling better and well.

The Benefits of a Stair Lift in Your Home

By Brinkmann Hamer

If you reside in a house with above one floor and comprise people living with you who are powerless to mount stairs easily, then what you call for is a stair lift. Stair lifts are enormously constructive, mainly in cases where you cannot give to put in another room to your ground floor. Stair lifts also saves you from the trouble of shifting residences repeatedly.

Stair lifts come in wide varieties. Some stair lifts have a chair fixed on them, and the person who needs to move to another floor sits on it and can thus easily be transported to the other floor. Another kind of stair lift has a platform instead of a chair, and is especially useful if there is need to move the ill person in a wheelchair, or if the person prefers to stand rather than sit.

A stair lift runs on wheels that move along a railing that is fitted into your staircase, and upon pressing a single button the lift moves the person or thing on the platform or chair onto the next floor. This convenience is becoming fairly common in homes having elderly people, since it provides them ease of movement.

The main benefit of this is that it offers mobility to the person who wants it. Besides, stair lifts gives you absolute freedom and you can effortlessly move about from one level to another without asking for assistance from someone.

The second advantage is that it saves you from either spending a lot of money on constructing new living space downstairs, or from moving people around the house to reshuffle the rooms so that the person unable to climb the stairs can have a room downstairs. This also saves you from having to move, or get another bathroom constructed if you don't have one on the ground floor.

Thirdly, it can take heavy loads on it, equal to four hundred pounds, and you can also employ this to move stuff amid floors. No longer will you have to bear heavy furnishings up the stairway when you are revamping. You can now put those things on the stair lift and have it hold the weight for you.

This organism is not only for utilizing of the individual who is in poor health. Children will be keen on it and use it as a pastime, and everybody can use it if they are powerless to go up or down the steps. So, if somebody is feeling very drained, or are for whatever grounds reluctant to climb up the steps, they can exercise this as well. If someone does not desire to take the possibility of mountaineering or descending the stairs on their own, for example expecting females, then this are a wonderful option for them too.

The lift operates on battery or on your regular electricity supply. The battery option is more expensive, but they will also function during a power outage. Stair lifts are also really safe, and also there is no danger of someone falling from it as it offers a very smooth ride.

Weight loss for busy women

By Simone Bride

A one hundred percent successful easy weight loss system does not a yet exist for overweight people but many do work very well although a great deal depends on the user and their doctor. Being overweight is the cause of many medical conditions which require long term attention but obesity also affects the way we see ourselves as well.

You must not forget that the success of any easy weight loss method will be as a result of the person using it as a correct attitude is paramount. Your primary reason for losing weight must be clear whether it is too improve your looks or for health reasons; once you know this, then you must decide.

Effective weight loss programs require you take certain facts into consideration; for instance, the time you eat during the day as well as what it is you eat, how often and whether you exercise at all. Weight loss should not be achieved at a rapid rate so do not expect to lose thirty pounds each and every month because you will not achieve this and may create physical problems that often occur when weight is lost quickly.

To keep it simple, consider that a pound in weight is generally believed to be 3,500 calories and then it's easy to break down into daily reductions of 500 calories, meaning you can lose a pound in weight each week. Most of us eat too much and definitely an excess of junk foods which we shouldn't rely on the way we do although it is not a good idea cut out everything you enjoy.

Of course we often eat more when we do not feel very good about ourselves or are depressed about our lives, which is often called comfort eating. It is nonsense to believe that continued eating and weight gain will not have serious consequences to your health as we now see in the increase of conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart conditions and cancer. One of the first steps in easy weight loss is assessing why the person is actually eating the amount they do as this can be the key to long term weight management.

One aspect that also needs to be included is how the person pursues the subject of their weight loss program as those who take a more relaxed approach are usually more successful. The one thing that has shown to be true no matter what you do in life is that being positive about something is more likely to make it happen. The great thing about weight loss is the extra energy you feel and how much more positive your outlook is to life in general which obviously has an impact on self-esteem as well.

Once the effects of an easy weight loss program are felt by the dieter, they feel more positive about the future and realize the result they want to achieve is possible.

Have a Septic Tank? This Is What You Need to Know

By Amy Nutt

If you have a septic tanks, you probably have a love/hate relationship with it. Most of the time it saves you money, because you do not have to pay regularly for water reclamation services. However, when something goes wrong, it can be a costly and messy affair. People with septic tanks need to make sure they are properly maintaining their tanks, and they can do so with these basic tips.

Pump the Tank when Needed

You need to pump your septic tank regularly. The regularity of pumping depends on the size of the tank and the size of the residence. Experts recommend a typical home with a 1,000-gallon tank should be pumped every three to five years. If your tank is smaller, you will need to pump it more often. Pumping the tank removes the solid build up that is an inevitable part of the septic process.

One way to stretch the time you can go between septic tank pumpings is to increase the amount of solid waste that is destroyed by the bacteria in the system. You can do this by installing a Fixed Activated Sludge Treatment (FAST) septic system in your home. FAST systems create the ideal environment for the bacteria that are necessary to decompose much of the solid waste you send into the system. FAST systems house these bacteria in an underground, aerated, self-cleaning reactor chamber that allows for optimal bacteria growth. This unique system leads to a 90-95 percent removal of total suspended solids from the waste water.

Keep Water Flow Even

Too much water and too little water sent through a septic tank can cause problems. To keep the tank running efficiently, keep the water flow as balanced as possible. Too much water, such as what you may send through the system if you are doing extensive laundry, can put more water through the system than it was built to handle. This means that it can flood the system. Also, too much water flow can push some of the solids that have settled into the bottom of the tank into the leaching field, causing clogs and environmental damage. Times of low water usage can lead to the death of the bacteria in the system.

Keeping water flow even is not always possible. There will be times when you need to use more water, and other times, such as when you are out of town, that you will not be using as much water. The unique design of FLASH systems makes them capable of handling a changing water volume.

Avoiding Nitrogen Contamination

The process that occurs inside the septic tank produces nitrogen as a byproduct. Too much nitrogen in groundwater leads to contamination that is when it reaches human drinking water. This means that your septic tank could be a very real environmental hazard.

The bacteria in the septic tank work to neutralize much of this nitrogen. For this reason, you need to make sure that the bacteria are functioning properly. Avoid sending high amounts of household cleaners and other strong chemicals down the drain, as these can kill some of the bacteria in the system, causing more nitrogen to build up and leach into the environment. It is not possible to avoid sending these products down the drain completely, but avoid excessive use. Also, avoid using powdered detergents in a septic system.

If you have a FAST septic system, you will not need to be as concerned with nitrogen buildup. The FAST system involves multiple processes when treating wastewater, including bio-chemical, physical, and biological processes. As a result, the system greatly reduces nitrogen levels in the water that is sent to the leach field.

Osteopathic Back Pain Treatment for Pregnant Women

By Andrew Mitchell

Pregnancy puts an enormous amount of strain upon a woman's body. To be sure, bearing life is no easy task! The average amount of weight gain put on during pregnancy is fourteen kilos and those fourteen (or more!) kilos can put a lot of strain upon a woman's spine and back muscles. A great deal of pregnant women living in the United Kingdom have found that the advice given to them by osteopathic practitioners is the easiest to follow and helps to relieve the back stress a great deal. This article explains some tips given to pregnant women by osteopaths:

1. Don't slack off on your exercise regimen! Unless your doctor forces you into bed rest at some point during your pregnancy or expressly forbids exercising, there is no reason not to work out while you are pregnant. You might not be able to work out as intensely as you usually do, but you can follow your old work out schedule and make a few simple adjustments to your exercise regimen. You don't want your heart rate to rise above 145 bpm, so you will want to concentrate on exercises that help you control your heart rate. Strength training exercises and Core training exercises are always good. Squats and Lunges can still be done while you are pregnant and you should make sure to go for a walk or a swim at least a few times every week during your pregnancy.

2. You will especially enjoy the massage recommended to you by your Osteopath while you are pregnant. Massage will help release the tension that has built up in your back and along your spine. Carrying a baby causes quite a bit of strain and pain in a pregnant woman's back. Tension can also caused by the emotions surrounding a woman as she comes to terms with the fact that she is becoming a mother. A woman and her Osteopath will work together to identify ways in which to deal with the tension that accompanies pregnancy.

3. Proper nutrition is essential while a woman is pregnant and an osteopath can help a pregnant woman figure out a diet that will keep her and her baby healthy. With an ever increasing "do not consume" list for pregnant women, getting proper nutrition can be a challenge. An osteopath will help a pregnant women build a healthy diet while not eating any foods that will risk the health of the baby. Proper nutrition will help keep a pregnant woman's body and the body of her baby as healthy as possible while she is pregnant.

Pregnant women often prefer Osteopaths because they work with an entire person instead of simply treating obvious symptoms. Treating a woman's whole body often puts a pregnant woman's mind at ease.

How to eliminate acne with your body's elimination channels

By Sam Smith

Kidney

The kidneys filter the water in your blood as the blood flows through them. Kdneys can filter about 4 gallons of water everyday, out of this 3 pints are purged out as urine. Too much alcohol and sugar consumption can damage the kidney because they damage the kidney cells and weaken the kidney functions.

Human body uses water to minimize the accumulation of toxins in the body and skin. Sufficient amount of water consumption on a daily basis will help kidneys remove toxins and other excess nutrients, minerals and vitamins from your blood. When there is enough water in the body, kidneys will work hard to extract excess waste from the blood. As a result the skin will not have to do this function.

Water plays a major role in keeping your skin moist. Moist skin layers helps to protect itself from bacteria and toxins that try to penetrate through the skin pores. As a substitute to water, you may drink fresh juices and eat fruits and vegetables. Drinking sodas and other drinks that have sugar cannot be counted as water.

Lungs

The two large sacs in your body extract the oxygen and passes on to the blood in your body. The blood will carry the oxygen to the heart and gets distributed to other parts of the body. Breathe out activity pushes out the waste and carbon dioxide from the system.

Your body requires energy for its movements. This energy is created by the cells using the oxygen. Oxygen is also used to neutralize toxins, waste and pathogen.

Oxygen plays a major role in creating energy in your body. At the same time oxygen also plays a role in cleaning your internal systems. If your body has more toxin and acid waste, the more oxygen is used to get rid of them and result in less oxygen availbel for the cell to create energy.

Your lungs have to work hard to eliminate toxic waste from the system when other eliminating channels are weak. As a result the lungs will be overloaded and functions poorly. This will lead to disease and infections.

If you have liver, lungs and kidney weaknesses, most likely you will have skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, acne, etc.

Lymphatic System

Lymphatic system is a series of tubes, large and small, that covers your entire body and it is part of your immune system. Since this system does not have a form of pump, the flow of whitish liquid called lymph is pushed through the tubes by the body movement and exercise. The Lymph liquid is responsible for bringing nutrients to the cells from the blood and to move away toxins that come out of the cells. These toxins are moved to lymph nodes through lymph liquid into blood and eliminated through other channels.

When the lymph liquid is weaken, detoxification of toxins in your system fails. In order to maintain strong lymph liquid, it is recommended to consume enough fruits and vegetables since they are composed of electrolyte minerals such as potassium, sodium calcium phosphorus and chloride. Electrolyte is essential to stop the buildup of toxic waste accumulation in the lymph liquid. Elimination of skin disease such as eczema, acne and blemishes largely depends on strong lymph liquid.

causes of ovarian cysts

By Kit Saunders

There are many different causes of ovarian cysts. Under the normal menstrual cycle, ovaries grow cyst-like structures called follicles each month. These follicles produce hormones necessary for pregnancy such as estrogen and progesterone. Ovarian cysts can form when a normal follicle continues to grow for an abnormal period of time.

Follicular cysts are among the most usual type. These cysts rarely have symptoms, usually harmless and disappear on their own. Ovarian cysts affecting the follicle are caused by the release of hormones from the pituitary gland that is supposed to initiate the release of an egg. Failure to release the egg makes the follicle continue to grow and develop into a cyst.

Frequent causes of ovarian cysts occur when luteinizing hormones surge and an egg is release. When the egg is released, estrogen and progesterone are created by the ruptured follicle to prepare for the hypothetical conception. When the egg is sealed off, fluid accumulates inside the follicle and becomes what is called a corpus luteum. The corpus luteum will then expand and at that point becomes a cyst.

A corpus luteum cyst will typically disappear on its own without any treatment, although it could grow to 4 inches in diameter during just a period of a few weeks. It could also bleed internally or twist an ovary. If the corpus luteum cyst ruptures this can cause internal bleeding in addition to sudden sharp or severe pain.

Clomiphene citrate, a commonly prescribed fertility drug to induce ovulation, might be a cause of ovarian cysts. Usage of this drug may result in an increased risk that a corpus luteum cyst might develop. Corpus luteum cysts by themselves do not pose a risk to pregnancy.

Ovarian cysts containing blood, known as hemorrhagic or endometrioid cysts, form in the same way. The presence of blood might have been the result of an injury or from leakage of surrounding blood vessels through to the egg sac. When causes of ovarian cysts from bleeding and shedding of endometrial tissue occurs in the ovaries, painful cysts may form. If left to continue, the pooling blood may rupture causing pelvic pain.

Though it is not possible to completely prevent the causes of ovarian cysts, increasing exercise, controlling stress, improving the quality of your diet, and improving your health can help minimize the probability of the development of an ovarian cyst.

Goji Berries, the King of Antioxidants

By Anne-Marie Pannu

Tufts university in Boston is leading the way in testing fruits and vegetables for their ORAC value. What is ORAC you ask? ORAC is that standard way that antioxidants are measured. It stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. Different fruits and vegetables have different ORAC amounts but the Goji Berry stands out as having the most Antioxidants.

Cellular damage and oxidation is caused by free radicals. SO what do these and antioxidants have in common? Well antioxidants help fight off these free radicals, which in return keep you young, and feeling fresh. They have been proven effective in some diseases like macular degeneration. Some more popular antioxidants are Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Beta Carotene, just to name a couple. Even those these have some antioxidants there are much more powerful choices available for you to choose from. Goji berries for example may be the highest antioxidant you can get.

Highest Ranking fruits for ORAC units per 100 grams (about 3" ounces) Fruits: Goji Berry- Up to 25,000 ORAC levels, only certain companies look for the best, Prunes -- 5570, Raisins -- 2830, Blueberries -- 2400, Blackberries -- 2036, Strawberries -- 1540, Raspberries -- 1220, Plums -- 949, Oranges -- 750, Red grapes -- 739, Cherries -- 670, Kiwi fruit -- 602, Grapefruit, pink -- 483

In Chinese Traditional Medicine Goji Berries (Lycium barbarum) are believed to enhance immune system function, protect the liver, improve eyesight and improve circulation, among other effects. Goji Berries have long played an important role in traditional Eastern medicine, and are thought to extend the life of a person through their powerful antioxidant action, thereby protecting them from premature aging.

Much attention has been given to the goji berry recently in the West and the traditional health-giving properties of the berry are being confirmed in modern scientific studies. Potential benefits include blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar stabilization, an increase in energy and strength, disease resistance, including cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases, and improved memory, fertility, and general overall health. Goji berries are thought to be neuroprotective and anti-cancer, and can be used to reduce the toxic side effects of conventional cancer treatments.

How to Have a Fabulous Figure

By Kitty Z Kat

Have you thrown your New Years resolution out the window? Cheated on your diet or stopped exercising? Dreading getting into a bathing suit this summer because your rear end is too fat, too small, too droopy or dimply? We all know that doing tons of lunges or squats will firm up our fanny, but just thinking about it gives us a headache. There is a plastic surgery procedure that is fast, easy and less invasive than implant surgery. The Brazilian Butt lift is a plastic surgery procedure that harvests fat by liposuction from your hips, legs, abdomen and waist and transfers it to your rear end.

The fat is then injected into your buttock to make it more prominent. An additional benefit to the Brazilian Butt lift; not only do you get a shapely rear end, you may get a total leaner silhouette that emphasizes your new curves.

The fat liposuctioned from these areas of your lower body are processed and purified to make the injection material. To get an even, smooth and more natural appearance, your surgeon will inject the fat into different areas of your buttock at various depths. Using correct injection techniques is essential to a great Brazilian Butt lift.

Irregular, asymmetric skin, numbness, swelling or bruising may occur from the liposuction. Patients may also leak fluid from the incision. As with other injection methods, your surgeon may over fill the fat to allow some re-absorption back into your body. The over filling could cause temporary swelling. Unlike implants, because fat injections come from your own body, you do not have the risk of an allergic reaction.

Correct harvesting, processing and injecting the fat should have long lasting results. There should be no reason to require touch ups or a second round of fat injections. One thing to note, fat is fat and if you lose a lot of weight you may lose some fat in your buttocks. It is a good idea to talk with your plastic surgeon prior to your surgery to make sure you are maintaining a desired weight.

The Brazilian Butt lift result is highly dependent upon the skill of the surgeon. Surgeons who are not using correct purification or injection methods will not obtain long lasting results. Be sure that your surgeon is qualified and experienced in this procedure!

So long to a droopy, dimply, too big or too small! The Brazilian Butt lift will give you that fabulous figure you always wanted...just in time for summer!

The Truth about Pub Food Recipes

By KC Kudra

You will expect different types of food from different restaurants - pub food, caf food, fast food, and fine dining all fall under the category of meals from food outlets. We all expect there to be a world of difference between a meal from a fast food joint and a dinner from an award winning restaurant, both in quality and price, but what about pub food? Is pub food freshly made or mass-produced? Just how healthy is this kind of food?

Pub food in Britain is also known as "pub grub." At the turn of the twentieth century, you could expect to see shellfish vendors outside public houses selling whelks, mussels, cockles and the like, or you could get a cold snack like a salad at the bar.

In the 1950s, most pubs offered "a pie and a pint" and the landlord's wife would make steak and ale pies for the workmen who came in for lunch. In the 1960s, dishes such as scampi or chicken in a basket appeared. In Ireland, Irish stew with soda bread was common pub food.

What is Modern Pub Food?

These days in Britain, you can expect meals like bangers and mash, fish and chips, Sunday roast dinner, hot pot and pasties. International recipes such a lasagna and curry feature on many pub menus. In Australia, popular pub dishes include pub-style hamburger, steak, or chicken schnitzel served with mashed potatoes, wedges or chips and a salad.

Since the 1990s pub food has become a more important part of the pub experience and most public houses, serve lunch and dinner at the table instead of bar snacks at the bar. Some pubs serve top quality food, which can rival that of a good restaurant and the pubs at the far end of this scale call themselves "gastro pubs." This word is a combination of the words pub and gastronomy and it was coined in 1991 when The Eagle, a pub in London, opened and started serving fine food.

Pub Food versus Homemade Food

Not many pubs offer the type of food found in The Eagle and most modern pubs use cheap ingredients, easy cooking methods such as microwaving and they have a cook who might or might not have any culinary skills. Rather than fresh pub food, you can expect something that has been made in a factory, packaged in plastic wrap, boxed and deep frozen for a year.

The chicken Marsala recipe you ordered might not be a freshly made dish, but rather something that was mass made a year ago and been sitting in the pub freezer all that time. Two minutes later, the microwave pings and your order is ready. We know of one famous British pub chain with only two dishes on the menu, which are cooked to order. The rest are frozen dinners but the menu descriptions obviously hide that fact.

Eating pub food might be fine occasionally but there is no getting away from the fact that homemade food is better for you. Not only does it work out much cheaper but also you know exactly what ingredients are going into your homemade recipes and you will not add all the colorings, preservatives and other chemical additives found in a lot of pub food.

Who Else Wants to Have Flat Abs?

By Dana Thinny

Fashion changes every now and then. One thing is certain: fat bellies were never fashionable, in the whole history of humankind. This is what makes our modern teenagers starve themselves to death, in their wish to look as skinny as they can, thinking this would bring them the respect of their peers, or some love, or more friends and fans.

What can you possibly do if you are not thin and your constitution shows that you never will be, no matter how many diets you'd be willing to follow? You can get a flat stomach. If your belly is flat, then the other rounded shapes are beautiful. The belly is the one that makes fat people look ugly.

With each generation, people want to be skinner and skinner. The ideal of each year is a few pounds less that the one of the previous year. This can drive all moms and grandmothers crazy, when seeing those teenagers suffering for not being as thin as a skeleton.

Having a beautiful, flat stomach needs a bit of attention on a daily basis. Diets don't help eliminating the fat which has been accumulated on your abdomen. This fat will disappear only by suitable exercises, done regularly.

It is important to be aware that for getting to tone your stomach, abs exercises are not enough. It takes more to have a beautiful body: you need to make exercises for your entire body, to work cardio routines and to watch your daily calories intake.

Forget the internet and its advice. Forget ideas given by your friends about what you should do for getting a flat tummy. Ignore everybody and seek for specialist advice. Nutritionists and gym trainers are here for you.

Think of your reasons for looking better. Maybe they are to shallow to make you endure the daily workouts and the healthy diets you'll have to go through for such a long time. If you lack motivation, don't even start any weight loss program. You'll certainly fail.

6 Ways To Improve The Way You Study Anatomy

By Mike Filsman

At first peek the study of human anatomy seems to be complex and intense. It is true that it is complicated and your studies will not change that. As far as being extreme ,that can be elevated if you take your works 1 step at a time. Here are numerous steps to help you along the way.

Step 1:
Do a quick overview of the human anatomy as a whole. You will see that it is entirely made up of systems. These systems all interlink with each other as well as back one another. If one system fails the others will not be able to work.

Step 2:
Now that you visualize the link ,that a look in wide at all the various systems. Get a list of all personalized unit. When you are equipped to start your studies you will be centralizing on each one singly. Your list now offers you with a standard study plan which is really only a starting guide.

Step 3:
You have constantly been assured when you are about to take on a task to begin from the start. In many senses trying to visualize just where the starting of the human anatomy begins is not all that elementary to determine. Most students find the easiest way is to study from the inside out. Meaning beginning with the skeletal system, is probably going to be the simplest way for you to start to understand the complexity of the body. After all if we didn't have the skeletal system then the rest of our body would just be a big blob of no form.

Step four:
Continue your studies this path taking each section at a time and mastering your knowledge in it. As you advance you will finally begin associating all of the systems together and you will that it has now get natural to you to run from one system to other.

Step five:
Once you have picked out the region or system you are starting to read. You require to get other list. This list will be the essential sections that are contained in that system. As you go over your studies you will learn about each one of these sections which we will now name to as the organs.

Step six:
Lets followup what you have in front of you as a study outline.

(a) you have your listing of body systems.

(b) you have a course of processes of where you are going to start. You have comprised a list of organs or parts found inside that system. So the following step is you now determine what do you require to know about each of the organs.

(1) you will require to recognise what its function is inside its own system.

(2) you will need to acknowledge what that organ is made up of and how it operates.

(3) in the end you will require to know how it links in with all the other organs within the system.

So by following these simple steps you have now relieved the feelings of being drowned in your studies. You have just constructed yourself a study program that will in the end aid you to gain and keep all of the knowledge you expect regarding the human anatomy.

The Effects Of Stress On The Body

By Samantha Jones

Stress affects the body in many different ways. While the short term physical responses to stress are well known, some longer term effects of stress are less well understood. However, thanks to ongoing research a lot more is known about stress than was the case even a few decades ago.

Stress causes a physical response known as "fight or flight". Adrenaline, a hormone floods our system, enabling us to better fight off or to escape from a dangerous situation. The heart and respiratory rates increase, our senses are heightened and our muscles tense. Most animals have a similar response to danger.

How all of this works is that the hypothalamus gland is activated by stress. Our hormonal system cannot distinguish between different types of stress stimuli, but it does react differently depending on the perceived severity of the threat as well as whether not the threat is an imminent one.

When the sympathetic nervous system receives the alarm signal from the brain, it responds by flooding the body with stress hormones. Adrenaline is the best known of these but others include norepinephrine and cortisol. These enter the bloodstream and charge around the body directing operations to prepare us to respond to the danger.

The increase in heart rate allows more blood to reach our large muscle groups so that we are prepared to run faster or fight harder. In order to reduce bleeding in case of injury, the blood vessels close to the surface of the skin constrict and our blood sugar levels spike to give us more energy and a faster reaction time.

While our bodies are experiencing the fight or flight response, other systems slow down ? growth hormones, immune function, reproductive and digestive function are all affected.

If we are facing a real physical threat, these autonomic responses are incredibly useful and can help us to survive a dangerous situation.

However, the vast majority of situations which provoke this response in modern man have nothing to do with physical threats, but rather workplace deadlines and the like. As tempting as it may be to either run away or punch your boss, it's generally not appropriate.

When we have this response and do not have to actually respond in a "fight or flight" fashion, then the physical effects linger. In many case, this lasts until the next stressful stimulus comes up.

Because of this, many people spend a great deal of their time in this heightened state; something not conducive to good physical (or mental) health. While the respiratory system and the heart are working overtime, the rest of the body, including important systems like the digestive, immune and reproductive systems may be underactive, leading to health problems including heart disease.

The effects of stress on the body are harmful to our cardiovascular system and keep our immune system from doing its job properly ? it's no mystery why people get sick so often these days!

Rheumatoid Arthritis Medications

By Amy Clark

Notwithstanding that there is no definite treatment for rheumatoid arthritis or RA to date, there are a number of available drugs in pharmacies that are designed to alleviate its symptoms and ultimately improve the patient's condition.

Overall, RA drugs can be classified into distinctive classes, as discussed later in this article. Physicians will probably develop the right treatment plan to alleviate pain and inflammation of the joints, and avert further damage to the joints. On a case to case basis, successful treatment can be attained through a combination of each of the succeeding drugs:

Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)

Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs, otherwise known as NSAIDs, work as an anti-inflammatory and in pain relief, but don't function to protect the joints from further damage. These drugs block the body from producing a substance called prostaglandins, which which sets off inflammation & pain.

Some examples of NSAIDs are naproxen (Aleve and Naprosyn) and ibuprofen (Advil and Motrin). Other NSAID examples include etodolac (Lodine), meloxicam (Mobic), ketoprofen (Orudis), Celecoxib (Celebrex), indomethacin, oxaprozin (Daypro), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam), piroxicam (Feldene), and nabumetone (Relafen).

These drugs are commonly advised as soon as a positive RA diagnosis is made. But remember that when consumed in extreme dosages for extended periods, these medications can cause severe side effects, including gastric ulcers, stomach bleeding, plus liver and kidney damage.

Corticosteroids

Another class of RA medication is corticosteroids. Such drugs restrain the immune system, ultimately reducing inflammation.

Methylprednisolone (SoluMedrol, DepoMedrol), Cortisone (Cortone), betamethasone (Celestone Soluspan), dexamethasone (Decadron), prednisolone (Delta-Cortef), triamcinolone (Aristocort), and prednisone (Orasone and Deltasone), are some corticosteroids.

While corticosteroids may be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis, they have been reported to trigger severe side effects when taken in extended periods. Examples of these side effects include cataracts, easy bruising, glaucoma, excessive weight gain, thinning bones, and diabetes.

Owing to the risks of severe side effects, these drugs are commonly only used as a momentary solution to control sudden attacks of rheumatoid arthritis. The good news is that a single injection of corticosteroids is able to block joint inflammation lasting for a long time.

DMARDs or Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs

Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs or DMARDs pertain to a classification of drugs that serve to inhibit your immune system from assaulting the joints, gradually obstructing further progression of joint damage. In rheumatoid arthritis treatment, these drugs are commonly consumed in combination with other drugs for more successful results.

Rheumatoid arthritis causes permanent damage to the joints, which appears in the early stages. Accordingly, most doctors would advise DMARD therapy soon after making a diagnosis. Patients are most responsive to DMARD treatment in the early stages of RA. The earlier DMARDs are taken, the more advantageous it is for the person.

Examples of DMARDs are cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil), gold salts (Ridaura, Aurolate, Solganal, Myochrysine), cyclophosphamide, penicillamine (Cuprimine), azathioprine (Imuran), sulfasalazine (Azulfidine), leflunomide (Arava), and minocycline.

While a number of DMARD products have been effective in rheumatoid arthritis treatment, the risks for severe side effects is enormous. Using DMARDs for a long time may lead to toxicity of the bone marrow and liver, susceptibility to infections, allergies (e.g. skin), and autoimmunity.

Of the DMARD examples mentioned above, hydroxychloroquine has the lowest risk of producing liver & bone marrow toxicity, and is consequently considered as 1 of the safest DMARDs. The bad news is that hydroxychloroquine isn't a particularly powerful drug and is not strong enough on its own to curtail RA symptoms.

In contrast, methotrexate is deemed as 1 of the most powerful DMARD types in rheumatoid arthritis treatment because of a number of reasons. Methotrexate has been documented to treat RA without causing bone marrow and liver toxicity as in most other DMARDs. Additionally, it is safe and effective when used alongside biological agents, another group of RA drugs to be discussed later. It is for this reason that these medications are often recommended in combination with certain biological agents if the drug does not control the disease on its own. However, keep in mind that although methotrexate is not as potentially dangerous as other DMARDs, it still may likelyhinder the bone marrow or cause hepatitis. If this happens, getting regular blood tests are recommended to check the individual's condition, as well as to stop treatment at the first sign of trouble.

Biological Agents

Biological agents, also known as biological drugs, function to lessen inflammation via various methods.

One way through which biological agents work is by blocking TNFs (tumor necrosis factors). Adalimumab (Humira), infliximab (Remicade), and etanercept (Enbrel) are TNF blockers.

One other method of how biological agents treat inflammation is by eradicating B cells. The Rituximab (Rituxan) drug, for example, unites with B cells, ultimately destroying them.

Further medications that reduce inflammation through their own way are:

- tocilizumab (Actemra and RoActemra), functions by blocking interleukin 6 or IL-6 - anakinra (Kineret), blocks IL-1 (interleukin 1) - abatacept (Orencia), which serves to block T-cells

One thing to consider is that each of these biological drugs has its own potential for negative side effects. A drug's side effects must be considered when recommending it to an individual.

Salicylates

Salicylates reduce the body's production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are the cause of the inflammatory and painful symptoms of arthritis. Of late, the use of salicylates have been generally replaced with NSAID, mainly due to the fact that salicylates can cause negative side effects, such as causing potential kidney damage.

Pain Relief Medications

Finally, a variety of pain relief drugs may likewise be used in RA treatment. Examples of medications which have the primary purpose of pain relief are tramadol (Ultram) and acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Although pain relief medications neither eliminate inflammation nor delay the progression of joint damage, these medications allow the patient to feel more comfortable and in due course improve his/her overall condition. It is because of this that pain relief medications are absolutely worth considering.

Surgery as a Last Resort

If all these medications still prove ineffective, physicians may recommend surgery. Some surgeries used in rheumatoid arthritis treatment include tendon repair, joint lining removal (synovectomy), and arthroplasty (i.e. joint replacement surgery), wherein the damaged joint is replaced with prosthetics.

Improve Your Health With A Flat Stomach

By Jason King

Three main and horrifying health benefits of burning off unwanted belly fat are the prevention of diseases such as breast cancer, diabetes and heart disease. It makes no difference how you get the fat around your stomach either. Whether it's another health problem, or just plain overeating it will have an effect on your good health at some point in your life.

It's not just how a fat mid section looks that people are now attempting to lose their excess pounds, but it's also because of the health risks that carrying extra weight has on the internal organs. The good news is there are simple steps you can take in order to reduce the amount of extra weight that's lining your belly.

A strategy that is gaining more popularity is food choices. Gone are the days when the dietitians were encouraging you just to eat less. We now know that dieting doesn't work in the long term, and can in fact make your problem worse.

Now we know that getting a proper balance of all foods is the key to burning fat. This incorporates eating carbohydrates and fat which most dietitians will encourage you to avoid or cut down on. Not all fats are bad, fats such as omega 3's are an important piece of a healthy weight loss plan, and they can help your body break down bad fats.

Carbohydrates are another food that a lot of dietitians now encourage you to eliminate. Carbohydrates are essential like any other food. They supply you with energy and prevent your muscles from shrinking. When your muscles start getting smaller your metabolism slows down, and then you'll put on weight.

Apart from consuming a a diet filled with the right foods, exercise is imperative for losing weight, and reducing belly fat. Cardio should be performed about 4 times a week for half an hour to an hour. Depending on your size and your work rate an hour of good cardio can burn up to 1000 calories. If you can do that 4 times a week that's an extra 4000 calories burnt off. That could be almost a couple of days worth of calorie intake being burned off in just a few hours.

If you can you can also do some resistance training that requires lifting weights. If you can increase your muscle mass you can maximize the speed of your metabolism. Once you raise the speed of your metabolism your body will burn extra energy even when you're resting which will help your belly get flatter.

Exercise has lots of other benefits like making you stronger, fitter and it also increases the strength of your heart.

Just eating healthy and adding some exercise to your weekly routine will get you a flatter stomach and add years to your life.

Purchasing Mineral Makeup: Some Great Reasons Why

By Marilyn Etzel

Wouldn't it be great to get maximum coverage and a healthy glow in one makeup with one application? That is what mineral makeup promises to its customers. For those who might want to give mineral makeup a try, this article probes the benefits of wearing it.

Mineral makeup comes with claims that they work for all skin tones and skin types. The mineral makeup hides is supposed to hide imperfections and help women put forth their best face possibleand with the growing popularity of mineral makeup, it seems it's doing just that.

Mineral makeup does it all using only natural products. When you first look at the small jar, you are reminded of traditional foundation. But, in that little jar is a product that reveals as much as it conceals.

The minerals that are the basis of most mineral cosmetics are:

Mica powder Iron oxides (adds color) Titanium dioxide

Most cosmetics contain dyes for color and fillers to increase shelf life. The minerals used in mineral makeup are naturally occurring ones that have been ground into a powder for application. Using natural products helps to lessen the occurrence of skin irritations or problems caused by makeup that clogs the pores.

The nature of makeup is that after all day wear, we need to "freshen up" our face. Some cosmetics, especially foundation, can cake or settle into creases and that only increases the visibility of the flaws we want to hide. In the heat, foundation can run and create light streaks on our face. That's not putting our best face forward!

Eliminate that issue by changing to mineral makeup. You don't have to rub it in as with a liquid foundation. A Kabuki brush is all you need to sweep a small amount of the mineral powder to your entire face. Don't worry about perspiration. The minerals settle in better when skin is warm.

Mineral makeup has several benefits:

Hides lines and wrinkles Goes on easy and stays smooth in hot weather Light coverage Works for all skin tones Provides a natural glow (comes from the bismuth oxychloride)

Do you have sensitive skin? Does your makeup protect you from the rays of the sun? According to a featured article on WebMD entitled The Lowdown on Mineral Makeup, the titanium dioxide and iron oxide act as a natural sunscreen in the makeup. Both of these minerals are found in many sunscreen products.

Mineral makeup is inorganic so there is less chance of bacteria getting into the makeup. As a precaution, keep your Kabuki brush clean between uses. Also use a separate container or a small top for makeup application instead of dipping directly into the jar.
